The role

 

Provide expert, generalist HR advice and support to managers and teams on a wide range of people-related issues. The role focuses on balancing employee needs with business objectives while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.

This is a site-based position with flexibility for part-time hours (either 4 full days or 5 shorter days). As the reporting manager is remote, the successful candidate must be confident working independently and making decisions when required.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide HR expertise to the business and address a wide range of associated people matters in accordance with best practice methodology, internal compliance and legal requirements.
  • Effective management of ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, flexible working.
  • Monitoring case load to understand key trends and implement interventions to address issues and drive improved performance.
  • Responsible for understanding policies and processes, providing guidance and advice to managers, employees and HR colleagues.
  • Support the design of HR policies, projects, methodologies and solutions that encourage greater co-ordination and consistency.
  • Support the execution of change programmes and other HR strategic initiatives across the business.
  • Coach line managers to drive improvements in team management and employee engagement.

Highly skilled with advanced knowledge of relevant systems, processes, regulations, and compliance requirements. Holds appropriate qualifications and understands how the role fits within the wider business. Provides guidance and support to less experienced team members.

Takes ownership of assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail while adhering to strict procedures and compliance standards.

 

Leadership
Communicates confidently and clearly in both formal and informal settings. Leads by example and demonstrates professionalism in all interactions.

 

 

Key Competencies and Experience

Essential

  • Experienced in the range of people practices across the employee lifecycle to enable effective management of people processes.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of the impact of good people management upon business results.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams and Sharepoint.
  • CIPD qualified to level 3 or equivalent.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified to level 5 or equivalent.
  • Change management process and application experience.
