We are currently looking for an Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience who is seeking flexibility, autonomy and purpose-driven work. With flexible working arrangements and a collaborative environment, this role supports work-life balance while contributing to meaningful projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Controller and the Finance Business Partner in ensuring financial records are kept up to date with the latest transactions and changes.
• Accounts payable and receivable: process and maintain accurate records of transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Bank reconciliations: perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
• Billing and invoicing: generate and issue invoices, and support project teams with queries and adjustments.
• General ledger: assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger.
• Audit: support external audits and internal reviews.
• Compliance: ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory obligations.
• Expense management: Process and monitor company expenses and credit cards to ensure accurate documentation and approvals.
• System management: utilise accounting software and tools (e.g., Xero & Excel) to enter, track and report on financial data.
• Administrative support: provide general admin support to the finance team and assist with ad hoc tasks as needed.

Key competencies and experience

• 3+ years of experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or finance support role.
• Strong grasp of financial functions, including exposure to commercial financial systems and CRM software.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills functional level in other Microsoft packages.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
• Experience in a professional services or consulting environment is highly regarded.
